French Horn Price Guide
Wondering how much a French horn costs? Use this guide as a starting point, not as a live dealer quote. Horn prices move with availability, finish, detachable-bell options, exchange rates, dealer policies, and whether you are buying new, used, or consignment.
Last reviewed: April 2026. These are typical U.S. price ranges I would use for comparison shopping. Before buying, confirm the current price with the seller and ask what is included: case, mouthpiece, setup, trial period, shipping, taxes, and any recent service work.

Used prices are a different market. A clean, recently serviced used horn from a reputable shop may cost more than a private listing, but that premium can be worth it if the horn has been inspected, cleaned, adjusted, and can be returned after a trial. A cheap horn with valve compression problems or hidden repair needs is not cheap for long.
